SANME Contributes to 2022 Beijiing Winter Olympic Games
Beijing will be hosting the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (Beijing 2022). As the time approached, the preparations for Beijing 2022 are in full swing. Formal agreements of cooperation were signed between Beijing 2022 Organizing Committee and Shougang Group in June, 2018. Shougang Group became the Official Urban Regeneration Services Partner of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Beijing 2022. As far as Beijing successfully won the bid of 2022 Winter Olympics, the Shougang Industry Park shall undertake many important functions of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games, including the official office of Beijing Organising Committee for Beijing 2022, training centers for winter sports like short track speed skating, ice hockey, and curling, in addition to a museum and recreational spaces.
Beijing Organising Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (Beijing 2022) in Shougang Industrial Park
As early as 2015, Beijing Organising Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games(Beijing 2022) has moved and started the relevant preparations in Shougang Industrial Park, Shijingshan District, Beijing. Shougang Group renews its old steel factory of the industrial remains into training centers for winter sports like short track speed skating, figure skating, ice hockey, and curling. It will also build the Winter Olympic Square within the park. The old industrial park will be the stronghold and provide training service for Chinese winter sports athletes to train for the Beijing 2022.
In the process of renewing the old factory, Shanghai SANME Mining Machinery Corp., Ltd provides the core technology of construction waste recycling to have the technological cooperation with Shougang Group to construct the first closed construction waste recycling project in Beijing. The recycling project is invested by Shougang Group while the process plan and equipments are provided by SANME. It could realize intelligent control as well the requirement in safety and environmental protection. The project could recycle 3000 tons of construction waste through the procedures of crushing, screening, and edulcoration. The production of the project could provide the aggregates to make bricks for the Beijing 2022 preparation.
According to the introduction of vice manager of Shougang environment Ma Gangping, the raw materials of the recycling project all come from the reconstruction of the old factory. The production of the recycling project is the regenerated aggregates whose particle size is between 5-20 mm. These regenerated aggregates will be used to replace the natural aggregates in the production of concrete. These regenerated aggregates will be used for the support construction of the Beijing Organising Committee. Sun Wei, executive Assistant of Shougang Resources, says that the bricks used in the over 20000 m² square out the Beijing Organising Committee’s office are all regenerated bricks made from the recycled aggregated. The road construction around the square will also consume about 100000 tons of regenerated constructive materials. In addition, the foundation of the parking lift and the reconstruction of the office zone will all use the regenerated aggregates.
Because the closed structure of the construction waste recycling project, it has much less influence on the surrounding environment than the traditional unclosed one. The project is not far away from the training but does not affect the training of the Chinese athletes. The recycling project that is supplied by SANME has gathered many characteristics such s practical, functional, environmental, harmless. It could not only solve the large amount of construct waste with the urban area of Beijing but also provide the regenerated aggregates for brick in the construction of the Beijing 2022. The project is remarkable in environmental protection.
Construction waste recycling project of Beijing Shougang is one of the first batch of key demonstration projects in Beijing. It will be the first batch of environmental center to gather construction waste recycling and R&D center in Beijing. Construction waste could become the high-quality and regenerated aggregates after recycling and fine sorting and realize the process of recycling. The regenerated aggregates will also be used in the construction of the second bidding section of the west extension of Chang’an road and the Innovation Research Demonstration Center of China Architectural Design Institute.
